Collectible Motorcar of Atlanta is proud to present this well-kept, clean 1972 Porsche 914. The affordable, fun, and nimble German sports car has really come into its own on the classic market. This 1972 Porsche 914 has a great color combo, the right features, and the unmistakable feeling of a true driving machine engineered in Stuttgart. And as you dig into the details, you'll see a well-respected classic that has been well taken care of all its life.
The design of the 914 was one of the most interesting Porsche ever made. It follows the same principal of the 911 that made sure the tall fender line helped you understand where the front edges of the car were. But then it adds a completely sleek front end with the aid of pop-up headlights. The factory-correct Tangerine Orange seems to be the ideal color for this Porsche. Combined with the crisp look on the black vinyl roll bar, black bumpers, and black targa roof, this has a beautiful distinct and contrasting total package.
The black interior of this Porsche blends exceptionally well with the bright orange paint job. There's even an upgraded AM/FM digital tuner with cassette player for upgraded tunes while going down the road. But more than just the music, this was built to be a true driver's machine. The bucket seats, a well-placed gearshift, and the classic sports steering wheel offer the true vintage Porsche experience.
It's hard not to look in the engine bay and make comparisons to the modern Boxster. After all, the 1.8-liter flat-four motor is mounted in the center to give you the best balance on the road. This car originally had a 1.7L, and was converted to a 1.8L with fuel injection. And just like the Boxster, this setup also gives you two trunks. The consignor states that this car has been stored in a garage with a dehumidifier, was recently serviced and inspected, and all work has been completed by Auto Atlanta and Type4Revolution (with receipts and paperwork to back it). As you look though all the paperwork, you'll see a long history of respect and maintenance, including a recent tune-up. So this is believed to be the original motor, and it runs like a well-done fuel-injected powerplant should. The paperwork also shows tons of replacements and upgrades, which make this car sorted and ready for its next adventure. You get to make the most of it all thanks to the control that comes from a five-speed manual transmission. With a car this well-balanced, you'll also love the fully independent suspension and four-wheel disc brakes. It makes for a total package that will have you constantly looking for the long and winding road home.
The sale come with a ton of valuable paperwork, including the owner's manual packet, maintenance records, and plenty more. That's exactly the total package you want in an affordable and distinctive classic. So don't miss out, call today!
