This Factory Five 818S is a tube-framed kit car that was built in 2014 and acquired by the seller in 2018. The fiberglass body is wrapped in silver vinyl, and the car is powered by a turbocharged 2.5-liter WRX STi flat-four driving the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle with a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes 18″ Enkei wheels, Wilwood brakes, a roll bar, Sparco seats, Schroth five-point harnesses, Subaru Impreza gauges, an air-to-water intercooler, a K-Tuned shifter, equal-length exhaust headers, an NRG steering wheel, and a JVC stereo. Work carried out in anticipation of the sale consisted of replacing the transaxle and differential as well as fitting custom axles. This 818S is now offered with build and service records, a California SB100 Vehicle Information Label, a certificate of origin listing it as a 2014 model, and a clean California title in the seller's name describing the car as a Special Construction Vehicle.
The fiberglass body is wrapped in silver vinyl with carbon-look accents. Equipment includes a custom roll bar by TC Design in Campbell, California, carbon-fiber splitters, carbon-fiber mirrors, a rear wing, and LED running lights. The seller notes the wrap is peeling in areas and that a crack on the bottom of the windshield was sealed.
18″ Enkei wheels are wrapped in Toyo Proxes R1R tires. Coilovers are fitted, and braking is handled by Wilwood calipers and vented rotors all around.
The cockpit features exposed aluminum panels and has been fitted with Sparco Ergo seats and Schroth five-point harnesses that are bolted directly to the floor with steel plates. Additional equipment includes a K-Tuned shifter, a carbon-fiber hand brake, a Wilwood pedal box assembly, a JVC stereo head unit, and aftermarket speakers.
An NRG steering wheel fronts WRX instrumentation including a 140-mph speedometer and an 8k-rpm tachometer. Autometer gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, and boost pressure are housed in the dashboard. The digital odometer shows 83k miles, though true chassis mileage is unknown.
The 2.5-liter WRX STi flat-four was sourced as a crate short block in 2014 and fitted with rebuilt cylinder heads, a Cobb TD05H-20G-8 turbocharger, and 1,000cc fuel injectors. Additional equipment includes an air-to-water intercooler, an iWire wiring harness, a COBB ECU with selectable maps, equal-length exhaust headers, and a custom muffler.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a replacement WRX five-speed manual transaxle with a Wilwood clutch, a resurfaced flywheel, and a limited-slip differential. Custom rear axles were also fitted in July 2021.
The car is titled in California as a Special Construction Vehicle using the Colorado Assigned Identification Number IDC0001649ZZ.
A California SB100 Vehicle Information Label is affixed to the tube frame and describes the car as a “2018 SPCNS KITCAR.”
