Stellar Blue is a great color with an even better name. It gets even better thanks to their contrasting decals - that bright blue screaming chicken on the hood just stands out in a sea of red, silver, and especially black cars. Even over 40 years later this looks stunning... but that could also have to do with the one high end professional respray this T/A received. We love these classic Pontiacs because the Endura plastic front ends gave them a unique and muscular appearance, and today it's important to find examples that still look as good as this one. Plus, you have all the iconic Trans Am touches of the day, like the shaker-style hood, fender vents, and full-length rear spoiler. And of course, no muscular Pontiac Trans Am would be complete without the iconic Honeycomb wheels.
The interior looks quite distinctive with its white upholstery and headliner. Plus, with blue on the carpeting, dash, and even the seatbelts, the full package still coordinates with the exterior. This has the right features, like power windows, an AM/FM/ stereo, and provisions for factory air conditioning and it blows cold! This is a car built for driving, and so you have high-back bucket seats, a center console in-between, and a sports steering wheel. And Pontiac's gauges were some of the best around with plenty of easy-to-read dials set in the stylish machine-turned panel.
The 455 cubic-inch V8 under the hood fills the engine bay with American muscle, and everyone gets drawn in by the shaker air cover. This motor has been under good care. So, you get an overall presentation that you can be proud to show off. The coupe inhales deeply through a four-barrel carburetor, and it makes a ferocious growl out of the newer stainless dual exhaust. You'll love this package on the road, as a tip of the throttle will feel like diving into a well of bottomless torque. And the TH400 three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, and 4-wheel disc brakes come together to make this power Pontiac an all-around good cruiser.
