Collectible Motorcar of Atlanta is proud to offer this beautifully restored 1962 Imperial Crown Convertible in black over red interior. This black cruiser underwent a recent professional restoration, and it was done correctly. There are not many of these roaming the streets, with only 554 total being produced by Chrysler in the early 1960's. Many cars of this era were predominantly swayed by the quest of humans to make it to the moon, as you may be able to tell by the taillights and shape of the vehicle. The taillights resemble the exhaust of a rocket, and lighting up red when braking instead of shooting out flames.
Under the hood lies a 413 cubic inch V8 boasting 340 horsepower, more than plenty to power this classic convertible. Speaking of convertible, this car does have a power convertible top, for those sunny cruises down the coast. Backing the 413 cuin V8 is a TorqueFlite A727 automatic transmission, which is controlled by push button in comparison to the more typical shift method. For stopping power, this 1962 Imperial is equipped with total contact power brakes, and the steering wheel is aided by constant control power steering. One thing you may notice about the steering wheel is the abnormal shape, which was squared off at top and bottom designed for better leg room and view through the windshield in the straight-ahead position. This take on steering wheel shape was definitely out of the ordinary, but proved to be ahead of its time as shown with newer model Corvette steering wheels.
Packed with power options, this Chrysler was very high end for the early 1960's. The power options include windows, seats, and antenna. The cabin is also decorated with air conditioning, an alpine AM/FM radio, airfoam padded seat cushions, full leather interior, and full instrumentation. Do not miss your chance to own this piece of Chrysler history and give us a call today for more information or to schedule a time to look at this beauty in person.
