Collectible Motorcar of Atlanta is proud to offer this piece of British history in the 1974 MG Midget. Lightweight, nimble, and elemental, the MG Midget was the essential and affordable British sports car of the 1960s and 1970s. Along with the closely related Austin-Healey Sprite, these cars have enjoyed an enthusiastic following for nearly 60 years. Built in four successive iterations known as the Mark I through Mark IV, the 1974 and earlier chrome bumper cars are sought after for their classic appearance.
This 1974 MG Midget Mark III is described by the seller as a fully restored and well-maintained fair-weather car. The seller shares that this car was professionally restored to a high standard shortly before his purchase. The odometer reads 100,305 miles, which the seller believes to be accurate. The MG Midget features a classically proportioned two-seat roadster design that has aged well. The paint appears to be in good condition and retains a high gloss finish in the paint color Damask Red. The seller states that no major rust is visible on the car. The front and rear bumpers retain a bright chrome finish. Per the seller, all exterior glass and lighting is complete and in good condition. The seller shares that this vehicle has always been a garaged, fair-weather companion.
When new, the performance of the 1974 MG Midget Mark III was spritely enough, with 54 horsepower motivating just 1,600 pounds. The MG boasts a 4-cylinder 1275cc engine, which is backed by a 4-speed manual transmission. The seller shares that the four-speed manual transmission shifts well. According to the seller, a few items have been replaced recently before bringing to us to sell. This includes the bearings, synchros rings, layshaft, seals and gaskets, and a new clutch. MG's like this do not come around often, so don't miss your chance and give us a call today to secure this piece of British history!
